Scoop6 Quest Quashed by Queen as £750,000 combined pools loom next weekend
Queen Of Bermuda won the Firth Of Clyde Stakes at Ayr this afternoon and in the process knocked out the four remaining Scoop6 tickets who had made it to the fourth leg.
Just a nose was the difference in the opening leg at Newbury between 38,621 units heading through and the 1,997 units on the winner Buzz. That set the scene and the win fund had rolled over before the well backed Mr Lupton won the fifth leg and gambled on Son Of Rest dead-heated with Baron Bolt in the Ayr Gold Cup.
The £423,348 win fund and £209,082 will now roll over to Cambridgeshire weekend at Newmarket next Saturday where early estimates are for an £800,000 combined prize fund.
Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “It looked difficult this weekend with the Ayr Gold and Silver Cups to unravel and so it proved with punters out of contention after just four legs. There were plenty of fancied runners placed with 1495 winners of the place fund. I’m sure punters will be back next Saturday in the quest for an £800,000 pot.”
The place fund paid £15.40 with 1,491 winning tickets.
