St Leger day provides an estimated £230k Scoop6 fund

The action for Saturday’s Tote Scoop6 is split across both sides of the Irish Sea with Doncaster’s St Leger card and the first day of Irish Champions Weekend sharing the responsibilities.

There were no recipients of the Win the fund last week, so another rollover means there is set to be an estimated £230,000 in the combined pools.

The St Leger (3:35) itself, the Matron Stakes (3:10) and the Park Stakes (3:00) all provide Group race puzzles to solve, while the other half of the Scoop6 is made up of handicap events.

The Portland Handicap (2:25) on Town Moor and the Pentigo Handicap (2:35) at Leopardstown provide a rude awakening for players, but get through the opening two legs, and things start to look a bit easier.

Saturday’s opening Scoop6 race is also this week’s Tote Trifecta rollover event, with £100,000 estimated to be in the pool for anyone who can pick out the first three home.

Tote spokesman Ben Stones said: “The Portland Handicap holds the key for two big pools this weekend, with the potential for the race to contribute to some big dividends.

“For Scoop6 players, get through the opening couple of legs, and things start to look a bit simpler as we bid for our first winners since August 15th.”
