£350,000 up for grabs on Cambridgeshire day at Newmarket

The Scoop6 pool continues to build once more and this Saturday, there is a cool £350,000 estimated combined fund up for grabs. The pool is made up of six top-quality races from Newmarket, Haydock and the Curragh. The sole Irish leg at 3.15pm is the Group 2 Beresford Stakes, which is set to be shown live on ITV Racing.

The feature event of the day is, of course, the Cambridgeshire Handicap at 3.35pm, one of the premier races of its kind in Europe and certainly the biggest betting heat of the weekend. With 29 runners declared to post, it clearly presents a formidable challenge for punters.

The Newmarket showpiece is also the Trifecta rollover race, where there is a huge £120,000 estimated to be on offer. Considering the average Trifecta payout in the Cambridgeshire is £3,141.20 in recent years, it’s worth a shot at picking the first three home.

Tote spokesman Kevin O’Malley said: “The Cambridgeshire is a fantastic race this year and the final leg is a real challenge for Scoop6 players. Having said that, the previous five races in the pool are gettable, so it is perfectly possible we’ll have some excited punters still in the game approaching the main event at 3.35.”
