Byron Bags Scoop6 for single ticket holder

A single punter landed the £90,690 Scoop6 win fund this afternoon courtesy of Cape Byron, who made it four wins in seven Ascot starts when running away with the Bengough Stakes. They will now have the chance to add the £104,699 bonus fund next Saturday if selecting the winner of a nominated race on Cesarewitch weekend. Favourites won the first three contests with Eva Maria (4/1f), Dakota Gold (15/8f) and Morando (2/1f) to send 7923 units through to leg three. It didn’t stop there for the market leaders either as 11/4 favourite Kynren took the Challenge Cup before Billesdon Brook whittled the remaining contenders down to just four when landing a 16/1 success in the Sun Chariot Stakes. One of those units was on the successful Cape Byron, who was the fifth winning favourite in the bet with the other three tickets on morning gamble Tabdeed. Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “You can never predict the Scoop6 as I’m shocked only one unit has taken the win fund with five of the six legs going the way of the market leader. Our single winner will be happy though to the tune of £90,000 that they were the only one who managed to tread a successful path through the afternoon. They will bid to take their winnings to almost £200k if bagging the bonus fund in seven day’ time.” The place fund paid £58.40 and was won by 275 units.
